Advantages of Screen UV Varnish

Provide Economic

After the volatiles are dried by heat, the layer thickness of solvent inks can be reduced by as much as 30 percent. With UV inks, 100 percent of the ink deposited stays on the plastic part – nothing is flashed off. In many cases, UV inks can run at much higher speeds than conventional inks because of the curing time involved.

Operator-Friendly

UV inks generally do not need any type of additive to boost adhesion or change the characteristics of the ink. Also, because UV inks must be exposed to UV light to cure, the ink does not dry on the screen.

Environmental Friendly

The only emission that is produced by UV curing is a small amount of ozone gas of which is easily disposed.

Types of Screen UV Varnish

Conformal Coatings
Conformal coatings encapsulate circuit boards and their electronic components in order to prevent the ingress of moisture, fungus, dust and other environmental contaminants.

Epoxy Adhesives
Epoxy adhesives are chemical compounds for joining components. They require clean surfaces and are valued for their toughness and resistance to chemical and environmental damage.

Gel Elastomers
Gel elastomers are highly viscoelastic polymer gel materials that have excellent shock absorption and damping characteristics. They are available in a variety of material types and grades.

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) and Contact Adhesives
Pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) and contact adhesives adhere to most surfaces with very slight pressure. They are available in solvent and latex or water-based forms.

Silicone Adhesives and Sealants
Silicone adhesives and sealants have a high degree of flexibility and a very high temperature resistance (up to 600° F), but lack the strength of other epoxy or acrylic resins.

Fiber & Wire
Our UV LED fiber curing system offers many benefits for curing coatings on all types of fiber and wires, including optical fiber, electrical and structural wire, and threads for smart fabrics.

Wood
UV LED curing technology is utilized in the wood coatings industry for applications such as edge coating, roller coating and digital printing. UV LED technology drastically reduces energy consumption and significantly reduces work-piece surface temperature.

Automotive
UV curing has been used for years in several areas of the automotive production process. UV provides near-instant curing of functional and decorative coatings. And the lightweight materials used in today's automobiles benefit from the low temperatures enabled by UV LED technology.

Industrial
Countless manufacturing processes make use of the benefits of UV LED curing. Applications range from manual curing of the adhesives used during sub-component assembly, to high speed curing of coatings and colorings of the finished products.

Components of Screen UV Varnish
01.

UV Oligomer

UV coating film-forming compound is oligomer, its performance basically determines the construction performance and light curing rate of the coating before curing, the coating film performance and other special properties after curing.

02.

Active Diluents

Active diluents are another important component of UV coatings, which can dilute and reduce viscosity, and also have the ability to adjust the performance of the cured film. The acrylate functional monomer has high reactivity and low volatility, so it is commonly used in UV coatings.

03.

Photoinitiator

Photoinitiator is a special catalyst in UV coatings, it is an important component of UV coatings, to determine the light curing rate of UV coatings.

04.

Additives

The role of additives is to improve the processing performance of coatings, storage performance and construction performance, improve the film performance and give the film some special features, etc. UV coatings commonly used additives are defoamer, leveling agent, wetting and dispersing agent, adhesion promoter, matting agent, resist, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is UV screen printing?

A: Ultraviolet (UV) screen printing is a variation of traditional screen printing that uses UV light to cure the ink instead of heat. UV screen printing inks are applied onto product packaging in the same way as traditional screen printing inks.

Q: What does spot UV varnish mean?

A: A spot varnish allows you to highlight specific areas of a printed piece and adds shine and depth to specific elements on a page. Varnishes can also be applied on a printing press.

Q: What is a UV screen?

A: The UV glue tempered glass protector available on the market is a tempered film protector that is installed by pouring liquid UV glue on the screen and then curing it with ultraviolet light. Compared with the conventional solid glue tempered film, the adhesiveness is stronger and does not fall off easily.

Q: Is UV varnish glossy?

A: UV coating, or ultraviolet coating, is a very glossy, shiny liquid coating applied to a printed paper surface and cured on a printing press or special machine using ultraviolet light. The coating hardens, or cures when it is exposed to the ultra violet radiation.

Q: What is the difference between UV and spot UV?

A: Spot UV Varnish is the same as a UV Varnish but when applied to only certain parts of the print instead of the full surface area, it is referred to as a Spot UV Varnish. Pros: Great visual effect, especially when used in conjunction with a matte lamination to create a contrast between matte and gloss.

Q: What is UV screening?

A: UV-screening compounds provide a passive method for the reduction of UV-induced damage and they are widely distributed across the microbial, plant and animal kingdoms. They share some common chemical features.

Q: How to remove an UV screen protector?

A: Turn on the hairdryer or heat gun and set it to medium heat. Hold it about 6 inches (15 cm) away from the screen protector and move it around the edges in a circular motion for about 30 seconds to one minute. This will soften the UV glue, making it easier to remove the screen protector.

Q: Why is screened UV light used?

A: In the realm of screen printing, comprehending the nuances of UV light is paramount for achieving precise and consistent results in exposure units. UV energy, falling within the wavelength range of 350 to 420 NM, is the secret ingredient that cures emulsions, transforming screens into intricate stencils.

Q: What does UV screen protector do?

A: If you are a non-professional, you may need to try a few more times. UV screen protectors are useful in protecting your device's screen from scratches. However, they also come with some drawbacks, such as decreased touch sensitivity and the potential for bubbles or imperfections.

Q: How long does UV screen protector take to dry?

A: After carefully placing the glass protector onto your phone, you should hold the UV light close to your screen to start the curing process. Move the light around to ensure an even curing across the screen – the whole process should take around 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the strength of your bulb.

Q: Can you remove a screen protector and use it again?

A: You can reapply screen protectors, but, like anything with adhesive, the screen protector will lose its stickiness if you try to reapply too many times. Also, if you don't remove it correctly, you risk breaking the protector, whether a tempered glass or plastic protector.
